Archie Bunker's Place was All In The Family renamed. The show centered more around the happenings of Archie's bar & grill (hence, the show's title) than his house. Archie hired a new partner, Murray Klien, who left in 1981.

At the start of the second season, Edith passed away from a sudden heart attack, leaving a grieving Archie to care for their niece, Stephanie, who in the final season of All In The Family. was abandoned on the Bunkers' doorstep.

With it's new title, this show brought us many changes in its final four years. Archie took his friendly little neighborhood bar and turned it into a regular restaurant. He took in another nice, Billie, for a short time, who like Stephanie, had a story too sad for Archie to resist. Archie gained legal custody of Stephanie, hired a maid, Ellen Canby, and returned to the dating scene after 31 years.
